find out moreEvidence to Impact (formerly DECIPHer Impact) is a not for profit company which maximises the translation and impact of evidence-based public health research. We do this by developing innovative products and services.
We deliver the ASSIST smoking prevention programme in schools across the UK. Each year in England, an estimated 200,000 children and young people start smoking; and most adult smokers say they started smoking regularly before they turned 18. If implemented throughout the UK, it is estimated that the ASSIST programme could prevent 20,000 young people taking up smoking each year.

find out moreSally originally set up ASSIST as a public health programme in the NHS following the successful randomised controlled trial. In 2010 she helped to form Evidence to Impact. Sally has a wealth of knowledge about smoking prevention and all aspects of tobacco public policy. Her background in both education, as a teacher, and public health, as a programme manager has given her valuable insights into both commissioning and delivery. A people person through and through, she loves keeping up to date with our customers and stakeholders both in the UK, and latterly, overseas as ASSIST is now being piloted in France!

find out moreKirsty started her career as a secondary school teacher before transferring those skills to the NHS over 10 years ago. Since then, she has held several posts in Public Health coordinating programmes (including ASSIST) and developing resources in tobacco harm reduction, specifically those that reduce the uptake of smoking in young people.
Based in Scotland, Kirsty is well placed to deliver training and carry out Quality Assurance visits to our customers North of the border.
We have been working with Evidence to Impact on an extension of the ASSIST model in UK and on a proposal to translate ASSIST to lower and middle income countries. Working with Sally is a real pleasure. She is highly approachable and pragmatic, and provides great advice from her wealth of experience on ASSIST.
